Walking in the Moonlight
12"x16"

According to an indigenous way of knowing woman align with the power and the cycles of the moon. The red in this vision is the earth and the colour of blood for the land that gives life. Like the land, the woman in my life ground me, through blood, Tahltan lineage and through the passing on of knowledge and culture. The horizon line is stark so there is a clear contrast with the light of the moon. The Tahltan pattern is reminiscent to footprints and I am thinking of how when the moon is full and the sky is clear everything is visible so we can navigate the night through the prayers of our mothers.
